This week Living Waters participated in Harmony Day, a national celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. The students had a great time taking part in multi-age activities for the morning. A huge thanks to Narelle Moloney for putting this together!

Harmony Day focuses on inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. This fits in with our school value of Love, and our current focus of ‘Show kindness and compassion, even when you don’t agree’. It was wonderful to see so many students receive awards for showing kindness in assembly this morning.

Living Waters students have been demonstrating their skill in sports lately, with a number of students selected to represent Alice Springs and the Territory in a range of sports. All students in Year 5 participated in an interschool netball competition this morning, showing perseverance and team spirit. Students across the school have been developing their netball skills with weekly lessons from Emily, our visiting specialist. Dan from AFL chatted to us at assembly to remind students of the opportunities to play AFL in Alice Springs, and we look forward to our school-based AFL sessions next term.

We held an open night this week for parents interested in the Mid-year Entry Foundation class. If you were unable to attend but would like more information, please contact the school.
