Message

Welcome to Term Two and I trust that everyone had a restful and enjoyable school holiday break. As we return to normal school routines, I want to remind all families that staff are on yard duty at 8.45am and the classroom doors will be open at 9.00am. It is very important that students are not dropped off at school prior to 8.45am unless you are supervising your child. It is also important that students are ready to enter the classroom at 9am so that we can maximise the learning opportunities in every lesson.

Harmony week

Last term we celebrated Harmony Week. It was wonderful to see so many of our learners willing to perform and share their culture with the rest of the school. Our learners showed such confidence and passion getting up on stage to perform. They also put in effort beforehand rehearsing for the event. This is a great reflection of the many cultures we have and celebrate at Kilberry Valley Primary School. I would like to say a big thank you to Susie who organised this event for the school.

Anzac Day

Last Friday, we held a special ANZAC Day Commemoration service. Our School Captains read some verses of poetry from ‘The Ode’. A school wreath was laid at the base of the school flagpole. Some classes made paper wreaths and others made poppy’s. Our students participated with the respect deserved by the occasion. Thank you to Ms Spalding and the school captains for their leadership of this event.

Attendance Raffle

Well done to all of our students who continuously attended school on time during the attendance challenge. I would like to thank Elodie’s family for donating the easter eggs to our school.

Mothers and special person day

On Friday the 12th May the mother’s and Special Person’s Day will be held. Based on parent feedback the day has been staggered to allow families who have children across multiple year levels to attend sessions across the year levels. This is a lovely opportunity for mother’s or special persons to attend our school and participate in activities together.  This is a wonderful part of our school culture, and we want to thank the PLC leaders and classroom teachers for their efforts in organising this event.
