A Short Message from Dr Jake

Dear Parents & Friends,

I hope this newsletter finds you well and that your children are enjoying a successful academic year so far. I am writing to share some exciting news about the progress our students have made in their reading abilities.

For a number of years, we have been closely monitoring student reading progress through our PM benchmark data. With our aim to have students reach level 8 by the end of Kinder, level 15, by the end of Year 1 and level 22 by the end of Year 2.  We are thrilled to report that our students have made significant growth in their reading abilities, and we want to take this opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments. You can see the tremendous growth across our school in the following graph:

Furthermore, with NAPLAN 2023 just around the corner, our 2022 NAPLAN results are now shared on the MySchool Website. You will quickly note our continued growth and success.

We attribute this success to the hard work and dedication of our teachers. Our teachers have worked tirelessly to create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and that fosters a love of reading. They have utilised a range of instructional strategies to meet the needs of all learners, including small-group instruction, differentiated instruction, and ongoing assessments to monitor student progress.

We are proud of our teachers' commitment to continuous learning and professional development. They have engaged in ongoing training and collaboration to stay current with the latest research-based practices in literacy instruction. This dedication has paid off in the significant growth we are seeing in our students' reading abilities.

As we move forward in the school year, we are excited to build on this success and continue to support our students' growth and development. We recognise that there is still much work to be done, but we are confident that with our outstanding teachers and supportive families, we can help our students achieve their full potential.

We wish our Yr 3 & Yr 5 students and teachers all the best next week with their 2023 NAPLAN assessments.

Thank you for your ongoing support of our school community. We look forward to continuing to work together to ensure our students' success.

Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us as we are only too happy to help.

Peace & Best Wishes
