Year Five/Six News

In Mathematics, Year 5 and 6 students have been developing their addition and subtraction skills, focusing on using real life scenarios. Students have been measuring their height in cm and then working out the differences between heights using different subtraction strategies. Did you know that the tallest person that ever lived was Robert Wadlow? He was 272 cm tall, (8ft 11inches) and died when he was only 22 years old. He was still growing when he died. Most of the students were around 130cm shorter than Robert Wadlow.

In Science, students have begun their projects about Earth’s place in Space. They will be including information about the planets in our solar system and the relationship between these planets and our Sun. When students have completed their projects, they will present them to their class.
