Double Entry Journals

During Reader's Workshop, Year 3/4 students have been learning how to track their thinking using sticky notes. Students can use sticky notes to track the important information in the text they are reading such as character traits, story events or facts and information. Students then use the sticky notes to complete a reading response such as a Double Entry Journal. A Double Entry Journal allows students to write down facts from what they have read and what they think about them. Completing responses such as a Double Entry Journal increases student understanding of what they have read.
