Year 10 Bakers Shop are learning about all things yeast. Last week they experimented with the elements that yeast needs to activate and grow. They produced cinnamon rolls the other week to a high standard and this week they smashed out Calzone, making their own pastry.

Well done Bakers Shop students, looking forward to taste testing your design loaf in a few weeks.

Year 10 Biology

It’s been a busy few weeks for our budding Biologists. They are currently completing their first assessment by making cell models, including the organelles that you would find within them. They have also started their next unit of work, Genetics and Inheritance. So far, they have learned about the structure of DNA and are heading rapidly towards learning about Mitosis (cell replication). This allowed them to complete an investigation where they extracted DNA out of strawberries and analysed it using a microscope.
