Horsham College Swimming Carnival - McLachlan Swimming House Champions

SWIMMING CARNIVAL | Wow did we make a splash at our swimming carnival held last Monday the 20th February! 

Hundreds of our students took to the Horsham Aquatic Centre pool in magnificent weather to race competitively in the morning in their chosen events then to enjoy the afternoon participating in the novelty events, these included Boogie Board relay,  Stand Up Paddleboards races and the watermelon relay race.

Students were also catered for outside the pool with Volleyball running throughout the day and Yolande’s Donut Easting Comp was great fun for all.

It was great to see so many students and staff taking part throughout the day, with the highlight of the day being Mr Queale sneaking out into the pool on a stand-up paddleboard, he didn’t last long once the Year 12’s laid eyes on this they took to him with dodge balls, then swam out to ensure he was no longer standing up right, it all ended with a splash.

Special mentioned must go out to the three staff relay teams, coming in 1, 2., & 3 defeating the House Captain and School Captain teams, maybe the 2024 Year 12 students might put up a better show and challenge the staff members in the pool.

The overall winners of the house trophy were McLachlan who narrowly beat Hall by 8 points!

18-20yr- Lily Bolton & Thomas Naylor 

Thank you to the Wellbeing team, Student House and School Captains for your support of the novelty events they were certainly a big hit with all.  Also we would like to thank all staff who assisted on the day, a day like this is not possible to be a success without the staff of Horsham College helping out, Thanks you all and we look forward to 2024.
