We are hoping to present our leadership badges at our next assembly, 13th February. We are just waiting on confirmation for our badges to be ready.

School Council

Next Tuesday, 14th February, we will be holding our first School Council for 2023. Our School Council plays an important role in our school and in 2023 will continue to do so, as we go through our 4-year review. The parents on School Council speak on behalf of the parent community.

After this meeting, I will be opening nominations for our 2023/24 School Council positions. We would invite any new parents onto the School Council.

More information on the nomination processes, including self-nomination forms, will be sent out next week via XUNO.

From the Principal

Well, we have hit the ground running with some amazing things happening in and out of our classrooms.

Our Year 5/6 classes moved into the new portable on Friday. They are still in the process of sorting through and finding places for everything, but they are starting to look good. We still have some small works that need to be completed and these will be done soon.

The new staff and senior toilets will be opened by the end of the week. We had the concrete poured today and have a little landscaping to complete.

Miss Feely is currently planning the 3 to 6 House Swimming Sports which are planned for Wednesday 15th February. All parents are invited to attend. I know Miss Feely will be looking for extra helpers on the day, so if you are able to assist, please let us know. the weather forecast is currently looking great for the day.

We will, once again, conclude with our student's vs parent vs teacher swimming race, so there are any parents interested in joining the parent team, please see me on the day and I will put your name down.

We will be inviting last year's Year 6 students back for the day, as promised. Invites for these students will be emailed out tomorrow.

Yesterday we had a visit from our new member of parliment, Martha Haylett, who came to speak to the school around future planning and assisting us with our proposed cover for the basketball court. Our fingers are crossed that we may be able to work on this project this year, providing a safe space to teach PE all year round.

Term 1 and 4 are the terms where all students are required to wear their hats whilst outside. If your child needs a new hat, they can be purchased at the office.

Finally, for parents who have children who walk, ride or scoot to school, could we please make sure we are encouraging them to wear their helmets when on a bike or scooter and use the provided school crossings?
