Assistant Principal's Report

Welcome back to an exciting new year at Valkstone Primary School! My name is Grant Rounsley and I am the new Assistant Principal of Valkstone PS. The purpose of this page will be to share helpful welfare and wellbeing information to our school community.

 

The following three initiatives are Glen Eira City Council run services. The access to these programs is done through their website.

Drop-in program

Our Drop Ins is a social program where young people can “drop in” to the Hub to participate in activities, play group games, draw, practice table tennis, hang out, chat with youth workers and meet other young people in Glen Eira.

 

When: Weekly on Wednesdays during the school term from 4:00-5:30 p.m. Where: Bentleigh Library and Youth Hub, 161 Jasper Road, Bentleigh

Who: 10 to 17-year-olds who live, work or study in Glen Eira.

 

 

Press Start

Press Start is a positive social gaming experience where you'll learn healthy gaming habits and play multi-player games. Not only do Press Start participants try a variety of PS4, Xbox, Steam, Nintendo Switch and tabletop games each week, but they also have a chance to share common interests and connect with others. 

 

When: Weekly on Mondays during the school term from 4:00 - 5.30 p.m. 

Where: Bentleigh Library and Youth Hub, 161 Jasper Road, Bentleigh

Who: 10 to 18-year-olds who live, work or study in Glen Eira.

Youth Voice — The Voice of Young People

Youth Voice will:

  • Provide opportunities for young people to come together and share views and stories about key topics relating to young people.
  • Offer a space to generate content about personal journeys, insights, and experiences.
  • Produce content in Studio 161 to promote Youth Voice to the wider community.​

When: Tuesdays during the school term, 4:00  - 5.30 p.m.

Where: Bentleigh Library and Youth Hub, 161 Jasper Road, Bentleigh

Who: Young people aged 10 to 17 years old who live, work or study in Glen Eira.
