St Brigid's News and Events

News from 3/4

The Year 3/4 students had the opportunity last week to harvest the vegetables from the Airgarden they had started as part of their ‘Plants in Action’ Term 2 Inquiry unit.

They also checked out the awesome new sensory garden at the front of the school. Some students had fun finding their names on the bricks around the walkway.

 Wellbeing News

For the second time this year nominated students took part in a whole day learning experience with onsite presenters from GATEWAYS. The focus of this day was Critical and Creative thinking. Yr 4-6 students have been involved in a Manuscript Mystery. They used cryptic clues to collaboratively connect and  solve the title to a well known author's text. Yr 1-3 started the day learning about the central nervous system and its relationship to how we retain and learn new information.  Feedback from students included comments such as:

  • It is great
  • The Mystery is amazing
  • I used the right side of my brain
  • I loved the clues
  • It has really got me thinking
  • The day went so fast
