From Principal Steve  - Grade 6 Exhibition

Dear parents and carers,

Every year our Grade 6 students work on their PYP (Primary Years Program) Exhibition project. The exhibition is the culminating, collaborative experience in the final year of the IB PYP. Students explore, document, and share their understanding of an issue or opportunity of significance.

Grade 6 is busy working on their Exhibition for 2022. It is a huge process that brings together all of their learning from the PYP as they conduct their own inquiries.

Our students are excited to invite the community to their exhibition on Wednesday 31st August (3:45 pm-5:00 pm) and/or Thursday 1st September (3:45 pm-5:00 pm). The events will begin with a short assembly at 3:45pm. Followed by time to walk around, interact and discover what the children have explored.

The Exhibition's central idea is "Humans use scientific knowledge to support the survival of living things."  From this, students had two inquiry options:

  • Option 1: An inquiry into the adaptations of an endangered animal. An inquiry into how humankind can take action to assist an endangered animal's survival.
  • Option 2: An inquiry into how the world's environment is changing. An inquiry into what future adaptations humans need to ensure survival.

As you can imagine, there is a substantial amount of work that goes into the exhibition and the students can't wait to show off their learning.

All members of the Brighton Primary Community are invited. If you would like to attend, please complete the following form to RSVP.

A very big thanks to our Grade 6 teachers for all their hard work on Exhibition and also to all the staff who kindly gave their time to volunteer as mentors for our Grade 6 students.
