"Blow to the left and Right for Safe Travels":

Our friends at KiwiRail are getting on board with this old idea – and we are too.  Blow to the left and right for safe travel before crossing rail tracks.  Whether you’re driving, cycling or walking, all it takes is a little puff each way – it works with a mask on too.  You might even spot a train while you’re at it.  Coincidentally, of course.

The official Rail Safety Week Launch is being held at the Wellington Train Station on Monday, 8 August. Rail Safety Week runs from Monday 8 August to 14 August.

KiwiRail leads our national Rail Safety Week with TrackSAFE New Zealand to raise awareness about how to stay safe around railway tracks and trains.

Treasured staff member Karamea Matthes, as part of the safety campaign OneEarOutNZ, will be attending the launch, supporting and sharing the same safety messages.

One Ear Out:

When out and about wearing earphones, please keep one earbud out and put your mobile devices away, so you're able to stay alert and be aware of what's happening around you.

More information can be found on the OneEarOutNZ, KiwiRail and TrackSafe NZ Facebook pages.
