Around the school

Information and Reminders

Construction and Planning works are in progress for the High School Building. We remind all parents and teachers to keep an eye out for the safety of the children.

Construction of New Building

You might have noticed some construction activity inside the Taqwa school campus. The building company has already carried out preparations for the construction to start mid next week. This construction is for phase 1D of Taqwa Secondary School, and is likely to continue until at least the end of March 2023. This will provide us to begin Yr 7 and 8 from January 2024 InshaAllah.

The time frame for this construction is projected to be around 6 and a half months. The construction team will be implementing a stop and go system for when big trucks and deliveries arrive to the school. Please respect their directions and please be patient when they are trying to do their job.

We are taking utmost care of our students and staff. However, your feedback will be appreciated. Please contact our business manager Peter or admin officer Farooq for anything related with the ongoing construction.

You can reach these officers through info@taqwaschool.act.edu.au or call them on the school phone number 02 61816870.

This is your school, and your cooperation and feedback is indeed very important for us.

Athletics Carnival Postponed

The Athletics Carnival has been postponed until September 6. Hopefully we will have much better weather next month. The students have been working on throwing, running and jumping during this term.

Please feel free to join us at the AIS on the new date.

Absences

Parents are required to email about absences if their children are not attending school. This is a government requirement for school records and is checked by the government representative.

Late Pick and Early Drop off

We kindly remind all parents that if your child comes to school after 9:30am, they need to be signed in at the front office and an email sent to info@taqwaschool.act.edu.au.

For early pick, up please do the same, sign out your child and email the school.
