Staff Profile

Mr Ayman Youssef

I chose to apply for an Assistant Principal role at Scoresby Secondary College because I was impressed by the teaching and learning at the school, many of the practices and the level of growth that students have demonstrated in recent years.

Having been at the school for a few days and meeting many students and staff, I am excited to be part of this community and look forward to working with students, teachers, parents, and education support staff as we all continue to grow as a leaning community.

I have been fortunate to have been an Assistant Principal at several schools as it enables me to remain connected with students, staff, parents and carers; and allows me to continue teaching whilst also enabling me to have a hand in shaping the educational direction of the school and lead us towards that vision.  I strongly believe that students learn best when the school works in partnership with parents, carers and the local community to support students in their learning journey.

Government schools such as Scoresby Secondary College (SSC) can provide education equal to any school. With the right practices, motivation, support from home and effective teachers, students can attain outstanding achievement. I have been an advocate for the public education system throughout my teaching career, I sent my children to the local government school, and they are experiencing successful careers, one as a lawyer and the other a business banker. I hope to be able to support the SSC students to develop the required skills to be whatever they desire.

I look forward to learning from the Scoresby Secondary College community and using my previous learnings to assist the community to grow in every aspect.  I am keen to get to know parents and carers, and to work with our community partnerships as we support our students.

To introduce myself beyond school life; coming from a physical and outdoor education background, I love being in the outdoors, particularly on a sunny day.  I have a passion for cars and motorbikes which is shared with my son, and we often go out for rides, together and with friends. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and as is the case with most parents, my children are my world and although they are adults, we make sure that we often spend time together.  My music tastes are rather eclectic as is my taste in film, with a bent towards comedy. I enjoy reading autobiographies of successful athletes to understand their influences, drive, and commitment. I have a fondness of dogs and am fortunate to have a lovely big black German Shephard that looks scary to some but has a lovely nature.
