Year 9

 Bentleigh East Campus

Final Weeks

On Friday 29 July, a group of Year 9 Bentleigh East students undertook a tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) and National Sports Museum as part of our Year 9 @BE Program. This is typically the favourite part of the program, and Friday was no exception.

Whilst some students are regular attendees at 'the G', for some it was their first visit. The enormity of the stadium hit everyone though when we went onto the hallowed turf to start the tour. From the ground, we headed into the change rooms, which had already been set-up for Collingwood Football Club who were playing there the next day. The tour continued on to Level 4 - where the view is quite amazing - and then back through the MCC Members including 'The Long Room', all the while provided with great commentary regarding the history of the ground.

When our tour concluded, we headed downstairs to the National Sports Museum, where students particularly enjoyed the hologram video stories of Taylah Harris, Bachar Houli and the late, great Shane Warne.

As always, the students enjoyed the tour and many of them vowed to return during their own time with family and friends.
