To the entire Merrick Family on the passing of Brian Merrick (St Bede's College Mentone student 1956-1960). Brian’s older brothers Charles and Leonard, as well as his younger brother Richard, also attended St Bede’s.
Brian was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia in late 2021, and underwent chemotherapy treatment at Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre, where he passed away peacefully on 15 July, aged 78 years.
He is survived by his three beautiful children and nine grandchildren.

The 1991 AFL Premiership player for Hawthorn was loved by all. After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2020, Paul established the 'Dare to Hope' campaign, through which his legacy lives on.
