Mobile Tech School Visit

The Mobile Tech School visited MSC last week. Students in VCE Outdoor Ed investigated design features of energy efficient buildings and the best materials to use in sustainable housing.

Year 10 students generated hydrogen energy from water and students in Year 8 used 2D modelling software to design the body for their dragsters which will be cut on the Mobile Tech School’s laser cutter.

Year 9 Science

Students in Year 9 have been learning about magnetism and energy. Students used wires and nails to create a light bulb. These light bulbs work by passing electricity through a metal wire called a filament. Electricity passes to and from the filament through two connecting wires, forming an electrical circuit. The filament glows as it heats up, allowing the bulb to light up a room.

National Youth Science Forum

Applications are now open for the 2023 National Youth Science Forum!

If you are in Year 11 and have a passion for science, technology, engineering or maths then you may want to consider applying for the NYSF Year 12 Program. The 12-day program will run from 10-25 January 2023. Students can receive financial support from our local Rotary.
