Hello, from PE

News from PE- Laura Hicks.

We have had a busy few weeks in P.E. At the end of Term 2, we had 4 before and after school basketball clinics. These were ran by local coaches made up of players from the Bendigo Braves, Lady Braves and Bendigo Spirit. It was great to see so many students taking up the offer to have these sessions. All students who attended had a great time and were able to work on their basketball skills with some expert coaching tips. Thank you to all the parents and students who came along to the sessions. For those interested in participating in basketball in the local community, please see the attached flyers.

At the end of Term 2, we also had our soccer team represent BVSPS at the Epsom-Huntly Recreation Reserve. We had a great day winning our first game and many goals were scored throughout the day. Students showed great persistence and teamwork throughout the day.

Last week we had some students from Grades 5 and 6 represent our school in the Division Netball Tournament. We had many students playing their first game of netball and our skills improved as the day went on. We had great participation levels with 2 teams playing on the day. Well done to all the students who came along to the netball tournament.

In P.E lessons our focus for the beginning of Term 3 has been on fitness. We have been working on our endurance, flexibility and strength through a range of activities including yoga and 'Fitopoly'.
