Hi St James families,
It’s been a quieter few weeks for the P&F but next week be ready to hear about our busy September with many Father’s Day Events, Footy Food Day and the much-awaited School Glow Disco! For now, here are some dates to remember!

PASTA FOOD DAY THANKS
A big thank you to the following parents who came in to help Kylie pack and deliver the pasta food day orders last Wednesday: Katrina van Vuuren, Sheleigh Keating, Laura Eksici and Katrina Alipanopoulos. The kids happily enjoyed a variety of pastas and muffins prepared by Aquinas Canteen. Thanks to Jun Yeung for her suggestion of using her workplace to cater our Food Day! We think we might be back for more menu items in the future!
Just a reminder from the office:
When sending order forms back to school we would appreciate it if you could send your envelope/zip lock bag clearly marked with the name, class, name of event and the correct amount enclosed.
And a reminder from me: If you have signed up to help at an event such as Food Day but circumstances change, and you can’t make it PLEASE send a quick message, so I know to find a replacement.
BUNNINGS BBQ
Thanks very much to the 9 parents who have already signed up to help at the Bunnings BBQ on Saturday 27th of August. We still need 3 people for the last shift and pack up 2.30 – 4.30pm.

GRILL’D LOCAL MATTERS
ST JAMES P&F HAS A TOKEN JAR for the MONTH of AUGUST at GRILL'D EASTLAND!
Local matters is a fundraising campaign run by Grill’d as a way of them “giving back to local communities who have given them so much”. This month we have one of the 3 jars at Grill’d Eastland, which is in the food court on the level below Hoyts cinemas. Each time you purchase a burger you are given a token to put in our jar. If you mention St James P&F you will get extra tokens. Every month they split $500 dollars between three groups to put towards their cause. $300 goes to the group with the most tokens and $100 each to the other 2 groups.
In AUGUST we encourage you to eat out at Grill'd Eastland! Maybe eat at Grill’d before a night at the movies or grab a bite to eat after shopping! If your family or group eats out and participates maybe send us a photo!! Let’s see if St James can get the most tokens!

- Less than six of you and we’ll shout a chips share plate
- More than six and the forecast is a bonus drink or snack chips for all
Make sure you mention St James P&F when you make a booking and you will get extra tokens for our jar too!
AUSKICK BBQ
Thanks to Tom Wursthorn and Michelle Holmes for helping Jen and Clemi on the BBQ this Saturday. Just one more week left for this season of Auskick!

Friday treats continue every Friday afternoon recess.

ST JOHN’S PARISH FETE
St James PS is a part of St John’s Parish and so this is our school fete along with St John’s PS and the Parish. As such we receive a significant amount of the profits and the event needs significant help from our whole community to help make this a successful event! MANY volunteers are required not only on the day but in the week leading up to the event and for clean up the day after.
Please keep this day, SATURDAY 19th NOVEMBER, and weekend free to assist on stalls, attend the event and help with clean up.
AUSTRALIAN SPORTS CAMPS
Australian Sports Camps have been a regular supporter of our school by offering vouchers for our Silent Auction. They are now offering discounted bookings for the Spring Holidays.
