Parents and Carers Opinion Survey

WE WANT OUR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS/GUARDIANS TO TELL US WHAT THEY THINK!

Our school is conducting a survey to find out what parents/caregivers/guardians think of our school. The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey is an annual survey offered by the Department of Education and Training that is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. We encourage all families to participate in this anonymous survey. Our school will use the survey results to help inform and direct future school planning and improvement strategies.

While previously a random sample of approximately 30 per cent of parents/caregivers/guardians have been selected to participate, this year all families are invited to participate in the survey.

The Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey will be conducted from Monday 15th August to Friday 16th September.

The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time within the fieldwork period on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones. The online survey will be available in a range of languages other than English. These include: Arabic, Vietnamese, Simplified Chinese, Chin (Hakha), Hindi, Japanese, Somali, Turkish, Punjabi and Greek. A link to the survey will be sent out when the survey opens. Please contact the school if you would like more information.

Italian Day

We will be having our annual Italian Day next Monday 15th of August with a great pasta making activity  organised by Isabella. We still require pasta makers if anyone in the community has one that they can lend to us for the day.

Athletics Carnival

Also on next Tuesday is our Athletics Carnival. Always a fun day. All are welcome to come and support our Year 3 to 6 students. Fingers crossed for fine weather.

Digital Learning Policy Survey

We want to thank the community for the outstanding response to the digital learning survey. The responses gave us a great idea about how to proceed with digital technologies. Screen time, focused use of devices, critical literacy, cyber safety, handwriting, and touch typing were among the many issues raised. These will be discussed at school council next week and an updated policy will follow shortly.

Curriculum and Professional Practice Day

A reminder that our student free curriculum day is happening on Friday the 26th of August and our whole staff professional practice day is happening on the 29th of August.
