SSA - PRIDE MONTH

As a part of June’s Pride Month, on the last Thursday of Term 2 Brighton Secondary College held a day to celebrate and uplift diverse groups within our school. A part of this was to raise money towards Minus18, a charity that works towards improving the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth via life-affirming youth events, digital resources, and education. Together, we raised $669.65!
The day included the signing of special messages on the Progressive Pride Flag in the library, cupcake making as a part of the Safe Space Alliance (SSA), and a presentation on the history and struggles of LGBTQIA+ people. The students had a great time, and it was wonderful to see the school as a united rainbow of unique individuals.
