Year 3 Mathematics

This term the Year 3’s have been learning about money. They have had the opportunity to build different denominations (amounts) using coins and notes.  They have learnt what different combinations can be used to buy items, and bridging between dollars. It has been a fun and informative unit in which we have covered some great activities such as ‘I went to the shops and bought’. In this activity, students had $30 to buy three items and demonstrated their ability to make one items value denomination three different ways.

This was a great demonstration of what the students have learnt over the course of the term and all showed excellent growth from the start of the term.

Year 4 Mathematics

In Year 4, students have been learning different strategies to solve addition problems. Here, students are using the double plus 1 strategy to solve a variety of problems in a fun and collaborative way.
