Phoebe K. - 00L

This award goes to Phoebe for her wonderful enthusiasm in reading this week. Phoebe worked with her group to guess the ending of our class story. She put in a fantastic effort when acting out her predictions. Phoebe you are a Scoresby superstar. We are so lucky to have you in our class.

Savannah C. - 00N

Savannah is to be congratulated on showing the GEM value Empathy. She is a very considerate student who always looks out for her friends. Congratulations Savannah we are all very proud of you. You are a Scoresby Superstar!

Alyssa S. - 1/2D

This week, Alyssa has demonstrated excellence in all that she has achieved. In particular, she has shown great interest in our Inquiry topic ‘Now and Then’. She used her skills learnt in Digi Tech to create a Word document at home comparing the past to the present that included images and text. Alyssa confidently presented her work to the class, proving how proud of herself she was. Well done Alyssa. You are truly a Scoresby Superstar!

Rohith J. - 1/2F

Rohith is receiving this award for always showing his HEART values. He is a kind and caring member of the class who consistently makes good choices. Rohith has demonstrated the HEART value of excellence by enthusiastically writing informative texts about Minecraft and Tennis. Well done, Rohith! Keep up the great work!

Amy R. - 1/2K

For her enthusiasm on our excursion to Mont de Lancey Historic Homestead. Amy enjoyed attending the olden days school and did her best writing using a blackboard and chalk. She helped make a rope and then used this for skipping. She did a great job making a lavender bag and peg doll. Well done Amy.

Celeste R. - 3/4C

The 3/4C award goes to Celeste for demonstrating the Scoresby HEART value of ‘Excellence’ in writing this week. Celeste carefully thought of a topic for her persuasive writing, included an introduction, 3 arguments with supporting evidence and a conclusion. She also included persuasive language. Well done on all the effort you put into your work Celeste!

Kimberly Z. - 3/4E

For the way in which she applied her knowledge of persuasive language and the use powerful images when collaborating on a poster inspired by Greta Thunberg’s call to action on climate change. Kim showed her creativity when she and her partner designed a poster that captured the earth being destroyed by climate change on one half and perfectly good on the other. Calling out for everyone to ‘switch the world around!’. You’re creativity and original ideas are inspiring, great work Kim!

Mason W. - 3/4S

Mason is congratulated on his willingness to share his thinking and feelings about a text that he has read and viewed. We have been reading ‘Our House Is On Fire’ which is about Greta Thunberg, the girl who is trying to make a difference to protect our earth from climate change. After reading her story and watching her speech, Mason responded in awe by exclaiming, ‘WOW! She’s only 10!” Mason explained his thoughts well and was able to identify the persuasive techniques that Greta used in her speech. Well done Mason.

Olivia C. - 5/6B

Olivia is an eager participant in all learning areas. She has proven to be a responsible SRC representative who is dedicated and passionate about her role. Olivia is also to be congratulated for her outstanding narrative writing. She develops clear plans, exciting beginnings and uses interesting vocabulary throughout her work. Keep up the great work Olivia!

For taking on teacher feedback and constructively using it to improve his learning opportunities. This week, it has been wonderful to see Jake contributing more in class discussions. He consistently puts his hand up and eagerly shares his thinking with his peers. I am so proud of you Jake. It is with a positive attitude to learning like yours that will take you far. Well done!

Elliana L. - Performing Arts

This award acknowledges and congratulates Elliana’s all-round musicianship skills. Elliana moves comfortably between the piano, ukulele, drums and xylophones, making her an incredible asset to any musical ensemble. Well done Elliana!

Taoipu A. - Mandarin

Congratulations to Taoipu for his attitude and confidence in learning Mandarin. In particular, Taoipu loves to have a go in learning Mandarin. He has demonstrated courage and determination as he commits to doing the actions when singing the "Hello song". Well done!

Jonelle W. - Visual Arts

Students in 5/6 demonstrated their knowledge of colour to create a pop art self-portrait. Jonelle always works with great care and diligence when planning, creating and finishing her masterpieces. The use of warm colours on a blue background really does make your portrait ‘pop’ Jonelle. Superb work!
