Principal's Report

Golden Valley Lodge

The Year 4 camp was a resounding success.  This was the first time Langwarrin kids had attended Golden Valley Lodge.  The feedback from the students and teachers was that they “had the best time” and “the food was great”.  Thank you to our parent helpers, our Year 4 teachers and other staff that attended to make this camp great. I hope our year 3 students are looking forward to this one next year!

On a side note, thank you to the Year 4 parents for being so responsive to the last minute changes from the bus company. Lloyd Park ended up being a much easier place to pick up from.

ANZAC/Indigenous Garden

Our ANZAC/Indigenous garden is starting to take shape thanks to CJP Landscaping.  Chris has also offered to cut the rest of the path to the far gate (closest to the health and wellbeing centre) to assist with foot traffic leaving the school.  The garden should be finished in the next few weeks and come Remembrance Day and ANZAC Day our students (and parents) may like to lay a wreath or place a poppy to commemorate those fallen.

We Were Successful!

Our school was successful in our submission for the Inclusive Schools Grant and will receive $133,000 to refurbish our farm and barn. Our students love playing down there and our Year 4 students love to participate in the farm program but it’s time for it to be rejuvenated…… (in consultation with Mary of course!).

2022 Prep

I have been conducting more Prep tours for our prospective parents.  It’s been great showing them what our current Preps have been doing and the space they get to begin their schooling in.  I urge anyone who has a child starting Prep in 2022 to please contact the office as soon as possible to collect an enrolment form.

If you, a friend, neighbour or acquaintance would like to book in for a school tour, please call 9789 7346.

Have a great week,
