Intermediate Girls Softball
Congratulations to our Intermediate girls Softball team who recently competed at the state championships.
After 3 games the girls finished second in their pool, narrowly missing out on competing for the overall title. Former VBC staff member Julie Ashdown made a special comeback appearance as coach, as Erin Gogerly could not be there on the day.
A huge congratulations goes out to: Olivia Biviano, Stella Drummond, Aadiya Jwas, D’Mee Katiforis, Mia Mrmacovski, Saffron Nolan, Holly Ridewood, Ava Tarau, Talia Walker and Eva Wilson.
Excellent work team! ⭐

We stood there waiting in suspense for the bus. It took about 2 minutes which was good because I wanted to get there ASAP. We got on and sat down, chattered for a little bit and off we went. My friends and I were talking all about how fun it is going to be playing. Before we got there, we had to drop the table tennis people for their tournament. We all wished them good luck and went off again. YESSSSSS we were finally there! We got out of the bus and straight away started getting ready. When the team was ready, we went to the field to practise for our first game against Eltham High School. We won against Eltham giving us a big boost of positivity for the next games. As we were running off Ms Timms and Ms Gogerly gave us all high fives and said we did so well. Our next game was against Montmorency which sadly ended with a lost but we were still positive for our next game. Of course, they gave us more high fives and compliments which made me feel so good. Our third game was against Diamond Valley, and we won that game which gave us hope to win the final game. After that we finally got to have our lunch. I was so excited for the last game against St Helena until Ms Timms came with the news that we were going to go into a lockdown starting at midnight that night. As soon as these words came out of her mouth my heart sank. But Ms Timms being the supportive person she is said to keep our heads high, try our very best and HAVE FUN. I felt so much better and was ready for the game. Sadly, we lost but it was ok because we tried our hardest. We chanted 321 VEIWBANK and shook hands with the other team. As we packed our bags to go, I was thinking about how fun it was to play and how hard we played. Ms Timms and Ms Gogerly gave us an end of the day speech and off we went home. It was such a good day, and I am looking forward to playing again next year.
