Food @ Home News….

 

Our Students have been cooking up a storm at home. Their assigned challenge was to design and produce a dish that represented them on a plate. Here’s some of the wonderful creations.

Here is a quick treat for those cold rainy days. Enjoy, from the Food Technology Department.

5 Minute Chocolate Mug Cake

5 MINUTE 

CHOCOALTE MUG CAKE

 

INDIVIDUAL

 

Ingredients:

2   Tbsp self-raising plain flour

2   Tbsp caster sugar

1   Tbsp cocoa powder

½   Egg

1½ Tbsp milk

1 ½ Tbsp oil

1 ½ Tbsp choc chips

¼ tsp vanilla essence

1 large coffee mug

Cream or ice-cream to serve

 

Method:

  1. Add dry ingredients to mug and mix well
  2. Add the egg and mix thoroughly
  3. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well
  4. Add the choc chips and vanilla and mix again
  5. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 2 minutes at 1000 watts (high).  The cake will rise.
  6. Allow to cool a little and tip out on plate if you prefer
