Years 8 & 9
Dear Parents/Carers,
On Tuesday 15th June our College will be transitioning all students to their Semester 2 classes.
The purpose of the transition period is to begin the planned curriculum work for Term 3 in the same manner we did at the end of 2020, into Semester 1.
This means your child will have a timetable change starting from Tuesday 15th June. To support students in this transition we will be reviewing class numbers and holding assemblies to discuss the process and set the expectations for a smooth transition.
As a result of this, there will be a range of form group changes occurring across all Year 8 classes. This means your child may not be in the same form class they are currently in when they start Semester 2.
This mid-semester transition is an opportunity for a 2 week cycle of learning to set your child up for great start to Semester 2 as well as ensuring that each student is in a form group that enables them to be the best they can be. Establishing good work habits and understanding learning requirements are a big part of being successful in the middle years of schooling.
We ask that you support your child in this process by checking they have brought home their new timetable and to contact us if you feel they need any additional support during this transition period.
If you wish to discuss any part of this transition, please contact us the Wurrin 8/9 Hub on 5150 4800 or email: wurrin@bairnsdalesc.vic.edu.au
Week 9 of Term 2, Year 8 and 9 Students will be starting Semester 2 subjects.
Year 8 students will no longer be learning a language instead they will be having pastoral classes.
Year 9 students will begin their new elective classes.
Year 9 students will be attending their new electives at the start of next week. Students will need to attend these classes for the rollover period and submit any course change requests by the end of Week 1 Term 3.
