Wellbeing Update

From Anna-Marie & Zoe, Wellbeing team

In our meeting last week, our staff Professional Learning Community (PLC) focused on child safety and The Victorian Institute of Teaching’s new Code of Conduct and Duty of Care requirements. The meeting generated a lot of conversation with child safety at the forefront.

Outcomes

A new working group entitled, Wellbeing Community of Practice, has been created with a staff member from each team involved. This will ensure we continue to educate our whole school community on the Child Safety Standards and wellbeing practices at NMPS.

Student Pick Up Arrangements

Our PLC meeting also raised concerns about how end-of-day pickup is undertaken in our school.

We want to remind all families of the end-of-day pickup procedure to ensure the safety of our community.

Pick Up From Class Procedure

If you collect your child/children from school please come into the grounds and collect your child/children at their designated lineup area. Our teachers will stay with their class until all children are collected. If a child hasn’t been collected by 3.45 pm they will be taken to the office and a parent/carer will be contacted.

Toys from home are not advised at school

We are noticing a lot of toys from home being brought out at playtime and this is causing some unrest. We do not encourage toys to be brought to school therefore we cannot accept responsibility for lost or traded items.
