Hot Chip Lunch

Last week some of the Middle School Students were awarded with a hot chip lunch for winning the attendance challenge at the Swimming Carnival and the Athletics Carnival. The winners were the year 9 forms with the highest attendance and the year 10 House groups with the highest attendance for each of the days.

Congratulations to 9A, 9D and the year 10 Mackellar and Kenny students!

Semester 1 exams

Middle School students will be sitting Semester 1 Exams in Week 8 (Monday 7 June – Friday 11 June). Students are expected to attend in full school uniform for their scheduled exams. Classes will not be running during the exam week.

Students will be learning about effective ways to study and prepare for exams in their classes in the lead up to exams. We encourage students to look at exams as a way to enhance their study skills and practice sitting exams to help prepare them for future exam periods.

Year 9 City Experience and Design Thinking Project

On Wednesday 16  – Friday 18 June the year 9 students will be participating in a three day City Experience Program. This program will tie in with the three day Design Thinking Project which will be running the following week.

We look forward to students having the ability to explore and navigate their way around the city whilst participating in a range of activities, then working together to develop and show off their skills in the area of STEAM while completing the Design Thinking Task.

X-country meets sport coaching

On Tuesday 18 May, MGSC held a Cross Country race for the whole school. Mr Hull’s year 10 Sport Coaching class helped out by undergoing different jobs to help out and keep the runners safe and aware about where they needed to run.

Everyone who participated in the race tried hard and did an amazing job. For years 7,8 and 9 it was compulsory and for 10,11 and 12 it was optional. The sports coaching class helped with the year 9s race and we’re lucky enough to watch the year 10s finish. Congratulations to all the girls who participated and those who made it on to districts!
