A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Hi Everyone,

BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS

A very big thank you to all the families who sent in photos of our students working so hard from home. It is clear to see that many are happy and busy. The photos are in this newsletter.

WEBSITE

The feedback on the website has been overwhelmingly positive. Once everyone got over the initial hurdle of how to log on families are finding it user friendly and that there is more than a week’s work to keep everyone occupied and learning.

I particularly like the grids which provide ideas and suggestions that can easily be tailored to the skill level of individual students.

SPECIAL TREAT

Next week there is a special treat for students as most staff have contributed to a “hello” video for their amusement/enjoyment.

COMMUNICATION

Please keep the lines of communication open with the school through your contact teacher. In a recent staff survey a few teachers said they were having trouble catching up with families who don’t answer the phone or respond to emails. We can only help if you are responsive. If you have any issues that you feel the teachers can’t resolve please don’t hesitate to contact Michael, Kim or I at school.

CHANGES

Whilst we have been enduring this very strange period of students working from home we have made some changes here at school. We moved the middle school group based in room 25 with Pam and Sue over to a much bigger brighter classroom in room 20. This will put them physically much closer to the other middle school groups. We have moved music to room 25 which will give students attending music access to toilet facilities instead of having to trek back to their own classes. It gives Amanda much more space and storage for everything musical.

The resource room has been expanded into room 22 where music used to be, all our books and a small library corner will be set up in there.

We are working hard to keep everyone learning online and to make school even better for when we can all be together again.
