Family Maths evening

Last night we were overwhelmed by the attendance we had at our Maths night. Based on recorded numbers we had around 260 people in attendance. The night was a huge success and I cannot thank our dedicated teachers enough who spent a lot of time preparing the activities. In particular I would like to thank Mr. Condon and his Maths Team for all of the detailed preparation that went into making the night so successful. Of course the most successful part of the night was seeing all of the parents and children engaged in enjoyable Maths games.

  • Next week there will be lots of photos showcasing the event.

Day for Daniel  October 25th

Last week we symbolically wore red to remember Daniel Morcombe and to promote child safety. Throughout the school there was a sea of red. A big thank you to parent and School Council member Lauren Roberts who was the driver behind the very successful day. It is also pleasing to know that we are continually working with students to promote awareness of strategies that they can use to help improve their safety.

Grandparents Day 0ctober 25th

Wow, what a great success our Grandparents Day was with over 200 Grandparents/special adults in attendance. The students had prepared lots of great questions that they asked their grandparents. We heard lots of interesting stories about where people attended school, travelling to school on horse back, class sizes exceeding 50 students, students getting the cane etc. One grandparent even shared an example of the slate they used to write on and his reader, the same book for one year.

We saw grandparents playing games, participating in writing sessions, learning about technology and about Mincecraft and designing towns. We even had grandparents participating in the junior unit Physical Education program.

Thank you to every one who was able to attend and engage in great learning with our students.

Marimba Band

Each week at assembly we have a class rostered on to provide a performance. Yesterday we were provided with a very entertaining performance in the courtyard from Mr. Bromley and our Marimba band. This was a great opportunity to show case some extremely talented musicians in our school.
