Belfast News

What a great start for Belfast in 2019! After accepting the scholastic trophy for 2018, which recognises attitude and effort for all students, the green machine produced a dominant display in the WC swimming sports to capture our first sporting trophy for 7 years. It certainly has been a consistent build up to 2019 champions following 2nd, 3rd. and 4th place finishes in previous years. Our Year 12 students led from the front, getting the Belfast students up and about on the walk down to the pool and then literally diving in the deep end to lead from the front. Right across the day our students swam with all their hearts, it was fantastic to see our Year 8 girls take up all 6 lanes in a number of events. Our Year 7 students, participated in everything and special mention to Riley McLean who swam for his house to collect vital participation points. In coming weeks the individual age champions will be announced and we expect a number of Belfast students to feature.

On the 15th of March, Belfast is holding their fundraising day for Oxfam and The Lookout project. The theme for the day will be “Double Denim” which will involve a gold coin donation, cake stall, BBQ, entertainment and a pairs Spaghetti Bolognese-eating competition. We will be selling Zooper Doopers, cans of soft drink and other items to raise money for our charities. To all our Belfast parents and students we will be asking for a donated cake/slice on this day. The response from the last two years in regard to our cake stall has been incredible and we look forward to your support again.
