Year 2/3/4

Brolga Room FUN!

The last few weeks in the Brolga Room have filled with whirl winds of activity. We have spent a great deal of time discussing and reflecting on the importance of commemorating and remembering our brave ANZAC’s.

Persuasive writing has been our focus genre and the students have been learning about how to effectively structure their arguments to convince people of their particular viewpoint. Kids have also been revising their editing skills and looking at up levelling their initial writing efforts.

In Numeracy we have been looking at navigating using maps, compass directions and grid references. The kids have also been busy designing their own treasure maps and writing clear directions to uncover their secret treasure.

Camp was a massive highlight for the grade 3’s and 4’s and each student who attended made many lasting memories. Kids were able to step outside their comfort zone when attempting activities like the giant swing, the vertical challenge, flying fox and billy cart racing.  Archery and the Race Around the World challenge also encouraged students to support their peers and work as a team.
