Create

On Thursday 12th September we had our first annual ART SHOW! This included the opening exhibition of the Artist in Residence Program as well as an exhibition of student work from Create Visual over the last 18 months.

The Artist in Residence Program is supported by the local Bayside City Council, and allowed 26 of our students to work with photographer Rhiannon Slatter to create works showing their connection to Beaumaris Secondary College. These works are now proudly presented in the Bob Whiteway Resource Centre of the College.

We would like to thank Rhiannon Slatter, Helen Berwick and the Mayor, Michael Heffernan for attending the night and for their support of the program.

Student works from Create Visual were on display also, showcasing the incredible creativity of our students. In Years 7 and 8, students learn about traditional and contemporary artists, and work with a variety of materials and techniques to express themselves. From portraits, to sculptures, to photography and printmaking – we are incredibly proud of the creative outcomes that students have had so far.

We look forward to continuing to CREATE!
