In P-2 week we are always trying to practice different ways to solve problems in Maths. “We are Mathematicians! "
We try really hard to use mathematical language to talk about all the different strategies we use. We are learning to build our Understanding, Fluency, Problem Solving and Reasoning when solving problems in Maths. We use resources like think boards, number lines, number charts, concrete materials, models, diagrams and tables to help us break problems up into smaller steps and to talk about our thinking.”
During Term 4, P-2s have been able to recommence Investigations in their classrooms after a long break. Through play and investigational experiences, children develop self-motivation and the ability to make their own choices. They also develop the ability to reflect and learn from their successes.
All campuses implement Investigations and students have been extremely excited to start this again because the learning is real, relevant and meaningful. Literacy and Numeracy are integrated into Investigations, along with other areas such as: collage and construction. This allows teachers to cater to all needs and interests. What a great way to finish Term 4.
This term our p-2 students have had a wonderful time learning to swim and especially water safety.
This short video shares what all of the classes experienced across all the campuses.
This day was a beautiful one with a Peacock group of students at Lara Pool.
Our students really enjoy their creative classes and especially when they make Kites and get to fly them!
Our normal transition plans were revised this year and we had a few very special days with our 2021 students. Each of them came with families to spend time on campus, doing a range of activities.
They all met the adults who are so eagerly looking forward to seeing them at school next year.
