Year 10 News

Following Step up to Year 11 we wish all students a relaxing summer break to regenerate for a very important Year 11 2012.

Lenovo 300C Chrome book.

As Mr Diamond shared on his page, he College is introducing our new Student 1:1 Device Program in 2021.  This means that all Year 3 to Year 10 students will be receiving a new Lenovo 300e Chromebook 2nd Gen, which will be collected with the Student Book Pack on Friday 22 January.  Excitedly, these $400 devices, which also come with a carry bag, will be at no cost to families.

Information on safe use and student expectations will be shared at Book Collection Day and at the beginning of the 2021 school year.

Last week all VCAL students had the opportunity to add to their industry qualifications by completing the Responsible Service of Alcohol, Safe Food Handling and Intro to Expresso Coffee short courses.

The students had a great time learning practical skills that they will be able to implement in their future projects, while increasing their employ-ability and on the job skill sets.

Congratulations to all students who applied for the position of VCAL community leader for 2021.  Great to see such a professional and well prepared approach to the interviews.  Our successful applicants are Cooper Bartlett Year 12 VCAL Leader and Ilere Lubwe Year 11 VCAL Leader

I have great pleasure in sharing with you some outstanding work by VCAL student Leif (incidentally or 2021 College Captain)

Year 12 News

Year 12 await the outcomes of their hard work during the year on site and in remote learning. There is not long to wait now, however they were able to join staff in celebrating the Year 12 Milestone at a Graduation Dinner at the Pier. With Covid restrictions in place, family members missed out on being there and hopefully a transmission of the event will be available.

The evening had a variety of moments as can be seen by this short video slide show.
