We are continually building on our Student Wellbeing support by adding to the counselling programs for our young people.

Cheltenham Secondary College data across all year levels supports the concept of improved learning behaviours, motivation to learn, improved attendance and a decrease in student management issues are directly related to individual student wellbeing. Acknowledging current research that identifies positive teacher/student relationships as integral to improved wellbeing and the learning and retention of students, the college recognises the need to introduce a program that builds wellbeing, resilience and specific skills required at the various stages of secondary school.

We have from external agencies two additional Student counsellors/mentors operating on every day of the school week (Monday - Friday) now. This translates to the college providing five Counsellors and three Psychologists. This is in addition to what we already have in place with the Director of Student Wellbeing and Counsellor:

Ms Lorraine East - available Monday - Friday

Mr Matt Mottram Student wellbeing mentor: available Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

Mrs Nella Foley Mental Health Practitioner: available Monday Tuesday Thursday and every second Friday.

Maddy Dyson Youth work from Les Twentymen foundation: available most days of the week

Student Counsellor:  Joyce - Mondays,
