Student Excellence

In 2021, we are pleased to announce Roxburgh Park Primary School is beginning a Student Excellence Program. This is a government initiative designed to support government schools to provide a great learning environment and build teacher capability to support and extend their high-ability students.

In Term One, we will be beginning with a Grade 5, Mindstorms group which will be supported by two teachers, the school’s Science specialist, Tony Faltiska and the High Abilities Practice Leader, Jess Baido.

“Not only are these students putting what they have learnt in the classroom into practice, but they are exploring curriculum normally introduced later in the curriculum,” described Tony.

Throughout the year Jess will be planning a range of educational initiatives to extend students in Grade 3-6 to achieve success in their learning. A range of curriculum areas including Critical and Creative Thinking, Mathematics, Science and Technologies will be covered. The school’s goal is to increase the number of students achieving above their expected level and to support the Education State target Learning for life, with more students achieving excellence in Reading, Maths, Science and the Arts.
