Take note

New College website

We are excited to announce that the development of a new St Mary’s College website has been completed and is launching tomorrow, Thursday 10 December.

You will find all of the usual features in a much more streamlined and easily-accessible website. Current families will view the SMC Toolbox which includes everything they need to know – from access to MySMC, uniforms and forms, cocurricular sign-ups and more.

Thank you to those parents/carers who assisted with this project. The website has been delivered in consultation with local company The20, staff and a third-party expert.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Community Relations, communications@smc.tas.edu.au.

Book orders

A friendly reminder that book orders are now open and can be made online via the 2021 Back to School Toolkit on the College website, or by following the below instructions.

Please refer to the Back to School Toolkit on our website for any changes or updates to school stationery and book requirements for 2021.

Santa Maria yearbook

The 2020 Santa Maria is here!

By now most families should have received a copy of the yearbook, which captures all the key moments from this year - a year unlike any other! This year's publication features cover artwork by Maddison Lamb (Year 12). Lovely, work, Maddison!

Parents and carers can purchase additional copies of the Santa Maria for $20 from the College Business Office.

Amendment: Artwork by Nandhini (Year 9)

We wish to apologise for an incorrect caption that was published in the Year 7-12 Visual Art pages of the yearbook.

Towards 2023

Towards 2023: supporting Tasmanian students with more opportunities through Catholic education.

A message from Catholic Education Tasmania:

With the end of the school year approaching, it's time to give you an update on the progress of our work to deliver Years 11 and 12 across more Catholic college sites in the greater Hobart region.*

We’ve started engaging with local councils and architects to develop the plans that will eventually become new student learning spaces! This is a very exciting part of the project and we can’t wait to share more about this with you as the work continues.

The Project team has been actively meeting both as a group and with key people within Catholic Education Tasmania. The Project team consists of Principals from Guilford Young College, MacKillop Catholic College, St Mary's College, St Virgil's College and St Aloysius Catholic College and as well as other CET subject matter experts in the fields of pedagogy, curriculum, ICT, facilities, human resources and project management.

CET is also engaging with the Office of Education Registrar and TASC to keep them informed as we prepare to extend three of our colleges to Years 11 and 12*. They will assist us in ensuring we meet the relevant standards and requirements to deliver quality learning based on Gospel values to our students.

Stay tuned for more updates as the project progresses! *Subject to approval
