ROOM 20 - VCAL

The VCAL students have been busy getting used to each other and their new way of learning! Applied learning and student voice is what VCAL is all about. We are researching and brainstorming together in the hope of deciding what our big VCAL projects will be this year and how we can tick all of our learning outcomes and have fun too. In PDS we are learning about community and why it is important. In Numeracy we’re learning fractions by eating M&Ms. In Literacy we are focussing on the theme of identity through writing letters, giving presentations about ourselves and viewing relatable themes through watching She-Ra. In WRS we are researching potential products to use in a pendant-making project. In the SBAT Program, students are learning how to work individually and together in a warehouse environment. They are learning about OHS issues and how to perform their tasks safely and effectively.

Secondary Sub School News

This term has  been a great chance for staff and students to recommence their learning at JSA. We have had some students participating in interschool sports, Hands on Learning building program and our personal skills program. Over the next fortnight we will be introducing the canteen program, bike education program and some students will be going on their first excursions for the year.

We are always looking for parent volunteers to come onsite and participate in our Sub School programs—including Boomerang Bags where we are going to be making library bags for all students in the School. If you would like to be involved, please get in touch with me by calling the School.
