Student Achievement

Congratulations to Nathan Hilder (Year 9) who undertook his Grade 5 Bass Guitar exam last November. He received a Credit for his performance and is now working towards Grade 6 in 2021.

Soirée Benvenuto

Our first Soirée of the year will take place on Thursday, 11th March. These are informal concerts for all students at all levels and provide a wonderful opportunity to gain performance experience. They are enjoyed by audiences and students alike. Please feel ‘Welcome’ to put your name on the program for this Soirée.

Blackheath Chamber Festival

The inaugural Blackheath Chamber Music Festival will be held in Blackheath over the ANZAC weekend in April this year. The autumn program comprises four glorious days and evenings of chamber music featuring outstanding Australian ensembles, including some of our emerging local talent. The Festival includes a workshop tailored for younger and aspiring musicians, and an open air performance for children and their families, in the beautiful Campbell Rhododendron Gardens.

As a school, this is an extremely exciting event. Our students have taken part for a number of years in the Young Mannheim Symphonists program and have found it to be a musically inspiring experience. As this opportunity is taking place this year in Blackheath, we are hoping to have a number of students involved.   Further details are available at: www.blackheathchambermusicfestival.org.au
