Wellbeing Week 27th-31st August

Wellbeing Week is a time when we celebrate everything to do with good health and enjoyment of school life such as in Music performance, Art. Yoga, lunchtime activities. Positivity is an attitude that is encouraged and embraced; to be shared amongst staff and students with random acts of kindness. Year 8 and Year 9 Wellbeing Days, include guest to come to our school and engage with the students on important topics that will build their friendships, respect and sense of community. Lunchtime visits and activities provided by Kingston Youth Service is a big part of Wellbeing week. Not only do they offer our students advice on all the services they provide, they also bring along fun games, puzzles, friendship bands, photo booth, and even fresh fruit. These activities also include staff participation.
This is a great week to get to know the people around you and to be grateful for the wonderful things you have in your life. Did you know that when we smile it changes brain chemistry? It will lift your mood and lead you to feel joy and happiness.Smiling reduces stress and anxiety.
So put a smile on your face. Smile at someone, even if you don't know them you might just make their day.
Have a great Week everyone!

Patty joins the College as a Therapy Dog
Many of you wold have noticed Miss Matthews has been walking around the school with a golden labrador. Patty has joined our school community this term. She was originally training to become a Seeing Eye Dog, but was not confident enough. Miss Matthews has adopted her and she comes to school several days per week and works with a variety of students. Patty loves attention, so if you see her around the school feel free to come and give her a pat.
