ASTHMA FOUNDATION FUNDRAISER
On Thursday 13th September, the Junior School came to school dressed in their pyjamas and onesies. This was to raise awareness of Asthma and to fundraise for the asthma foundation. The event was initiated and run by Beatrice Connolly (Year 4) and her amazing committee Elise Leivo and Adina Liang. I am super proud of these amazing students who used their imitative and organisational skills to run such an fun event!

Thankyou everyone for wearing your pyjamas to school on Thursday 13th September. Everyone looked great and we were able to raise $305.90 to help research into finding a cure for asthma. Bea Connolly 4V
TWO EXCITING WEEKS IN PREP
It’s always fun in the Prep classrooms but over the last 2 weeks, we have had some extra excitement!
Last Monday, “Farmer Heather” from “Living Eggs” delivered nine eggs (and an incubator, brooder box and other bits and pieces) to each of the Prep classrooms. We watched and waited patiently on Monday and were excited to see a few cracks in a couple of eggs on Tuesday morning. Two chickens hatched in Prep J on Tuesday and after school in Prep S, a few preps and their parents watched a chicken hatch. The excitement continued on Wednesday, with Prep J being the “proud parents” of nine chickens and Prep S enjoying their eight chickens.
The children have enjoyed holding the chickens, completing their own “Chicken Diary” each day and participating in this hands-on experience of life cycles in God’s amazing world.
The chickens will return to the farm on Friday but the children will be left with many happy memories of this special experience to conclude our term, studying some of the wonderful animals God has made.

YEAR 1 VISIT MELBOURNE ZOO
Last week Year 1s travelled on the bus to the Melbourne Zoo.
Here are two wonderful recounts of what happened!
I had an adventurous adventure last Thursday to the zoo!
First, we saw meerkats, they were so adorable.
Then we met Jess and Diamond the snake. Diamond was as scared as I was but I touched her.
Next, we went to play in a small place and we got lots of stuff to do.
After, we had recess and had a break. We looked at reptiles and got to see lions, lemurs, gorrillas and elephants.
Lastly, we had lunch and played scarecrow tiggy.
We saw a white leopard, we saw animals with sharp teeth and some mammals.

Next, we had fruit-snack then we saw the reptiles.
Later; we saw elephants and frogs.
After we had lunch we went to the butterflies. The butterflies were the best.
I loved the trip to the zoo.

SCIENCEWORKS EXCURSION
The Year 2 students enjoyed a wonderful day at Scienceworks. We enjoyed trying out all the various technology and learning about how our world is changing through the use and development of technology!
We also enjoyed learning about space when we watched Tyco To The Moon at the Planetarium! Not only did we enjoy learning, we got to enjoy the beautiful Spring day playing outdoors with our friends!
What a great way to end the term!

DEVOTIONS IN 3D
The Year 3 students were privileged this term to hear Erica's dad (from 3D) share in a devotional time about the amazing work that World Vision does across the world. The students were able to pray for Erica's dad as he was about to head off on one of his mission trips to many parts of Africa sharing the gospel and giving in practical ways to the needy.

YEAR 4 SCIENCE
In Science this term, the Year 4 students have been looking at weathering and erosion and how it affects God's perfect design. One of the lessons involved looking at five soil samples from school and being able to categories them into silt, sand or clay. The students really enjoyed this hands on activity.
