Casual Dress Day for

Billie-Lea Harris

As most of you know, Billie was involved in a serious car accident recently. Billie remains in an induced coma but has responded to requests to move parts of her body and has now been moved to the Royal Children’s Hospital.

I am pleased and proud to announce that the Casual Dress Day on Tuesday raised $1381 to assist Billie’s family with her ongoing care. Billie’s parents are incredibly appreciative of the support and Billie’s parents will be coming to the school in the coming week to accept the cheque from Billie’s friends. Thank you to all members of the school community who generously donated.

Pupil Free Day

This is a reminder that Monday 28th November is a Pupil Free day.  On this day all sections will be planning their programs for 2017 and finalising class arrangements.

Lower Primary Production – One Spooky Night

Last Friday night, Kirrily, Colin and I had the privilege of attending the Lower Primary Production of ‘One Spooky Night’. The student performances, costuming and lighting made it an incredibly entertaining evening. What struck me was the enthusiasm and joy our students had in performing in front of their friends and family. Each student participated in a variety of performances which is quite an achievement. Well done to Rebecca Campbell and the entire Lower Primary team for their organisation and support of this fantastic event.

Annual Christmas Concert

This year the Annual Christmas Concert will be held on the evening of Monday 12th December on the Loyola Oval which is at the rear of our Bundoora Campus in Gleeson Drive, Bundoora.

It is important that all students from Prep-Year 10 attend on this evening as the classes have spent considerable time rehearsing their items and they require all students to be present. As well as class performances and the BBQ there will be a visit from a special man who has a beard and wears a red suit!

Once again the Family and Friends and helpers are organising the barbecue which will commence serving at 5.00pm and will finish at 6.30pm. The entertainment will start at 5.30pm with a performance from our school band ‘Unbroken’ with the Christmas Concert commencing at 6.00pm.

Information regarding car parking will be provided closer to the event.

If the concert is cancelled due to the weather, it will be held the following morning at 9.15am in the Performing Arts Centre at the Bundoora Campus featuring student performances only.

We look forward to seeing many family and friends coming along to enjoy a great evening.

Thank You to our Volunteers

The Volunteers' Morning Tea will be held at 10.30am on Wednesday 16th November in the Discovery Centre at the Bundoora Campus. Where possible, staff will join the volunteers to show their appreciation to this group of dedicated individuals who generously give their time to assist our students and staff.

Accessing the School Bus

I would like to remind parents/carers that if you are thinking of changing your address you must remember that to access our buses you must reside within the Designated Transport Zone (DTZ).  IF YOU MOVE OUTSIDE THIS ZONE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCESS OUR BUSES.

You can ring the office any time to check on the zone and Carmel Hunter (Transport Coordinator) will only be too happy to give you any information.

If you change any transport arrangements regarding your child, it is imperative that you notify Carmel as well as the bus supervisor ASAP.

Welcome to our School

We extend a very special welcome to all the new students and their families.

The new students to our school recently are: Benjamin M, Arjun T, Sherwin S, Alannah W and Michael T.

Principal's Award

The principal's award goes to Dylan.

Dylan is a caring and supportive student with a willingness to assist others. He can be relied upon in all situations and has been an exemplary class leader. He gets along well with all staff and other students throughout the school.

Dylan acts as a positive role model to others in his class and across the Secondary 7/8 Section.  Dylan has enthusiastically contributed to section activities including assemblies and performances and is to be commended for his efforts.

Well done Dylan!
