How to pay for your child's event using CSEF

CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of camps, school excursions and sporting activities. if you hold a valid health care card you may be eligible for CSEF. The allowance is paid to the school to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions or sporting activities for the benefit of your child. The annual CSEF amount per student is $225.  Application forms can be downloaded from www.education.vic.gov.au/csef

If you applied for the CSEF in 2019 you do not need to complete an application for 2020 unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.

When an event is due to be paid you can email Koonung.sc@edumail.vic.gov.au and ask Accounts Receivable to take the money from the CSEF funds, this will also give permission, so you will not need to go into Compass to approve the event.  Alternatively, you may contact the College office (9890 9662) to advise Accounts Receivable that you wish to use CSEF for an event and provide  consent over the phone.

Please be mindful that like any other payment for an event, it must be completed by the due date which, in the case of excursions or sporting activities, is at least three days prior to an event.

Koonung 1to1 Device 2020 Insurance purchase

Dear Parents/Carers

We have recently reviewed the purchasing of devices for 2020 and it seems that some of you have opted not to have insurance on the device.

We highly recommend that you purchase insurance for the following reasons:

  • If the computer breaks, the Koonung ICT Team will take care of getting it fixed at no cost (3 breakages over 3 years)
  • No required forms to fill out or processing on parents’ part
  • If the device is broken, students will be liable for the cost of the parts and labour (for example, fixing a screen will be between $400 and $500.)

The insurance is $160 but it will pay for itself if there is ever a breakage. Please think carefully before choosing to not have insurance as you cannot purchase after the device is received.

To purchase insurance you will have to reply to the email that LWT (Learning With Technologies) sent confirming your purchase order. Or you can contact them direct on 1300 550 717 or email sales@lwt.com.au.
