Congratulations Kennice Dionisio!
Hampton Park SC Year 12 student Kennice Dionisio has been announced as the school’s recipient of the 2018 Caltex Best All Rounder Award, one of Australia’s most prestigious secondary school prizes.
Kennice joins a select group of secondary students around Australia who have received a Caltex Best All Rounder Award for excellence in their studies, on the sports field and for their work in the community.
Kennice was presented the award for excellence in the following areas:
- Academic
- Attitude
- Personal Conduct
- Leadership
- Service
- Arts
Kennice was appointed to the role of College Captain in which she developed her leadership skills and developed a passion project. She created the ‘Battle of the Houses’ event to help build house spirit and stronger connections between students. ‘It’s such an honour and a privilege to be awarded the Caltex Award. During my final year of high school. I’ve achieved and created unforgettable memories with both my peers and teachers’. Kennice hopes to study a Bachelor of Education and Arts at Monash University.
Hampton Park Secondary College Acting Principal Ms Karen Shiel said Kennice was a worthy recipient of the nationally-recognised award.
“The award recognises Kennice’s contribution across several disciplines – she has been a wonderful asset to our school and the wider community, setting a terrific example for others to follow,” Ms Shiel said.
Caltex Australia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Julian Segal, said the Australian fuel and convenience company was proud to have recognised generations of students like Kennice since the awards began in 1985.
“I congratulate Kennice and wish her well as she moves into the next phase of her life,” Mr Segal said.
“Kennice joins an exclusive list of Caltex Best All Rounders to have been recognised over the past three decades.”
The Caltex Best All Rounder Award has been presented to thousands of final-year students around the country across its 33-year history.
As a proud Australian business that’s been part of local communities for more than a century, Caltex seeks to acknowledge the all-round contribution that each student makes to their schools and communities, their leadership abilities and the good example they set for others.
Past winners include children’s show actor Emma Watkins (the current ‘Yellow Wiggle’) from The McDonald College in Sydney, and frisbee world-champion Adrian Gepp (PhD) from Faith Lutheran College in Tanunda, South Australia.

Smith Family Fundraiser
I would like to thank everyone for their work in supporting the Year 8 ALIVE out of uniform fundraiser for the Smith Family on Tuesday.
Together we raised $680 (approx.) which is a fantastic effort for this time of year!
A special acknowledgement to Ms Murdoch, Mrs Kavanagh and Mr Youssef for their behind the scenes work with some very excited SRC representatives and ensuring the smooth operation of the event, it is greatly appreciated.

CMY Education Awards
The Hampton Park Secondary College Homework Support Program was shortlisted this year in the Centre for Multicultural Youth 'MY Education Awards' in the category 'Outstanding Out-Of-School-Hours Learning Support Program', and was awarded the winner!
"Approximately 20% of the students at Hampton Park Secondary College speak English as an Additional Language and many students face barriers to their education including limited English, financial difficulty and a disrupted education. the after school EAL Homework Support Program has had a tremendous impact on education outcomes for refugee and asylum seeker background students at Hampton Park Secondary College. Participation in the homework club as led to greater student engagement in the classroom, improved self-confidence and a heightened sense of belonging. the program offers a vibrant, supportive space where students are encouraged to set short and long term goals for themselves and work towers achieving these goals. "
