Acknowledgement of Country

We will be presenting an Acknowledgement of Country every week at assembly from Friday 8th December. It recognises that Victoria has an ancient and proud Aboriginal history that stretches back many thousands of years. It pays respect to the Traditional owners which is important to Old Orchard because our main motto is to respect everyone.

These flags are located in Drayton Hall. The left is the Aboriginal flag, the right is the Torres Strait Islander flag and the middle is the Australian flag. It is important that the flags stay this way.

ALL library books need to be returned: 11- 16 December

Library books can be returned from Monday 11 December, just drop them off at the library before school.

You do not need to wait for your library day: as soon as you have finished your book/s or found overdue books bring them in the next day.

Remember: even if you haven’t finished your books they need to be returned on your library day.

School library books that are not returned (or are damaged beyond repair) must be paid for – but unlike the public libraries we do not also charge for labour/covering charges on top of the price of the book.

You can find most of the library books we have in the School Library at the Public Libraries and keep reading over summer – but - be careful to return them on time because the Public Libraries charge by the day for over dues!
