Our St Finbar's Prayer

Dear God,

Guide us with your Spirit, so that St Finbar's stays a place where people feel welcomed, included and know that they belong.

Help us to be people of peace, who create true and everlasting friendships celebrating difference, honesty and trustworthiness.

Help us to be brave when we need to be, during hard times and watch over us as we make mistakes and guide us to use our strengths to create a better world.

For the greater glory of God.

St Finbar pray for us.

Year 2 Class Family Mass

Last Sunday, it was delightful to see so many of our Year 2 families celebrate Mass with the St Finbar's Parish. The theme of their Mass was one of thanks and gratitude.  These are the prayers of the faithful that the students together with their teachers created. In this way our students are connecting their faith with the wider world and their own context.

In the spirit of thanks to God, let us now place before our heavenly Father all our needs.

1. Dear Lord, we thank you for our loving families who care for us and support us in everything we do.

Lord hear us.

Lord hear our prayer.

2. Dear Lord, we pray for our St Finbar’s family. Help us to work together so that everyone feels safe and happy at school.

Lord hear us.

Lord hear our prayer.

3. Dear Lord, we give thanks for the friendships that we have developed this year. We pray that they will continue as we journey into Year 3 next year.

Lord hear us.

Lord hear our prayer.

4. Dear Lord, we pray for those in our parish family who are sad, lonely, hungry or feel left out. May they find strength in God’s love and support.

Lord hear us.

Lord hear our prayer.

5.  Dear Lord, we pray for those who are sick. We pray that they

can get the help they need to get better.

Lord hear us.

Lord hear our prayer.

6.  We pray for those who have died, especially those in our

families - may they find peace, freedom and happiness in Heaven.

Lord hear us.

Lord hear our prayer.

Each prayer was beautifully and prayerfully shared with the congregation.

Year 3 Mass Sunday 17th November

We look forward to sharing Mass with the Year 3's and their families this Sunday at 5pm.  I would like to take this opportunity to thank the teachers for the preparation they do with their students for each Mass. The Masses are written in collaboration with the students to ensure witness to our faith and personal engagement and connection. We are very fortunate to work with Father Ian, who lets us write these Masses and use the Children's Lectionary for the readings, ensuring they are meaningful for child centred for our students and their families.

Prayers for those experiencing Bushfires.

The newspapers are full of the reasons and possible explanations for these events in NSW and Queensland.

Let us pray for those families experiencing these fires and those amazing people who are helping them.

Condolences

Our thoughts and prayers are offered to the family of Charles Winter's who recently passed away.  Some of our Year 6 Leaders met with Charles at Mayflower and presented him with a lovely powerpoint of his life.

May he rest in Peace.
