Year 11 Students

Year 11 students attended the Future Finder excursion at RMIT on Tuesday 27 November. Students were beautifully behaved and a pleasure to be out and about with. There is a report of the event below.

2019 Year 12 Future Finder Excursion to RMIT

The 2019 Year 12 cohort had a terrific day at the RMIT Future Finder excursion on Tuesday 27 November. In the end, the weather was very kind to us and allowed the students to explore the campus without getting too hot or getting rained upon.

Students listened to a presentation on tertiary education and were also given an introduction to studying at RMIT. As RMIT is a dual sector institution, the excursion provided students with an understanding of TAFE / Vocational education opportunities and options for higher education study and the overlap and pathways between the two sectors. Students also learned about opportunities for Work Integrated Learning, study abroad and exchange possibilities and the differences between studying at TAFE and studying at University.

As well as exploring the campus, students gained invaluable experience travelling independently to and from the venue (with no one getting lost or arriving late – the punctuality of the group was very impressive!) In addition, students selected 2 seminars to attend to gain a more in depth understanding of particular study areas and to have their questions answered by RMIT staff.

The students were attentive, beautifully mannered and polite all day and staff at RMIT complimented them on their excellent behaviour. Aitken staff were delighted to be out and about with the 2019 Year 12 cohort as they proved to be wonderful ambassadors for the College. Thank you to all the students who attended the excursion and also to the Aitken staff who assisted on the day who contributed to making the event such a success.
