Year 5-6S reflections from the 2019 Canberra Camp! 

Film and Sound Archive: Bobby and Aiden – we thought the Film and Sound Archive was amazing because we watched the advertisements of the past as well as learning about the evolution of film and sound. Aiden also thought that the film clip of the old show - Skippy, The Bush Kangaroo - was one of the best clips we were shown. Bobby thought the old Vegemite commercial was his most enjoyed clip.

Australian War Memorial: Bayden enjoyed The Last Post. He liked listening to the story of the soldier, and he liked all the pieces of machinery and weapons that were on display. Bayden loved the clay models.

Telstra Tower: Jackson really liked the observation deck, the wind was crazy. In addition, he liked the gift shop, which had a lot of souvenirs and cool items. Jackson liked the very top of the Telstra Tower observation deck because it was windy and he liked looking down, even though it made him feel sick.

Parliament House – Senate: Christopher, Connor, Jhett, Sapphire and Tyson all enjoyed the Senate the most because it was interesting, they saw and heard a real bill being debated in a Senate session and they role-played what happens in the Senate. They all thought that everyone did a great job of using their skill of impromptu speaking.

AIS: Jorjiah, Lily, Jake, Darby, Keisha, Chianne and Jade liked going to the Australian Institute of Sport. On the first day they went on a tour of the sporting areas. They saw gymnasts practising some awesome tricks. They also saw the gym and swimming pool. Their tour guide told them about the underwater observation area of the pool where the coaches can watch the swimmers training. They also went into the Sportex area that had a lot of games like basketball, AFL, bike riding, soccer, snow boarding which they could play.

Questacon: Bridget, Declan, Lloyd and Cody thought that Questacon National Science and Technology Centre was the best part of camp, because the free fall was a lot of fun and very exhilarating. The gift shop was the best! We also saw a robot and played some air hockey.
